ITA Software And Apress

I've not been completely idle the past few weeks. The puzzle solutions I sent into ITA were good enough to get me a phone interview. This is significant because my resume is a bit "thin". It is hard to say how worthwhile it would be for a company in need of a good hacker to hire me with a bunch of bullet points designed to compress the essence of my work experience into something an HR person would take the trouble to read. The phone interview led to an in person interview at the ITA offices in Cambridge. Unfortunately that interview process did not lead to a job offer. I haven't been able to get real details yet.

UPDATE: A top secret contact told me I will never know why because such information is simply not given.

Meanwhile, I've been sharpening some fractal code for a fractal speed contest sponsored by Apress. The resulting code may not win the contest, but I have made some performance improvements that I can back port to my main fractal code.
