2006 Honda 599 Hornet (CB600F)

I probably don't have long to live. On the ides of January 2006, I stopped by a Honda dealer to look at a motorcycle I had been coveting for a while. I had just finished a long week of work and it was Friday the 13th. I don't believe in bad luck, but how was I talked into buying the motorcycle then and there on credit rather than following my plan of saving up until I had the cash to purchase it outright?

They know how to sell.

This is a pictorial essay of me picking up the new bike the following day. I also got some gear, but I won't really concentrate on that. Not much anyway. The pictures here are links to unmodified images from my Canon A410. They are 2048x1536 images.

Planet Honda This is the dealership in Chadds Ford, PA.

Honda Gold Wing A Honda Gold Wing. This is not what I bought.

Honda CBR600F4i This cool looking sports bike is also not what I bought. I will have to look into getting those bags though. I could use those for commuting.

My new CB600F This is the bike I bought. The 2006 Honda 599 Hornet, AKA CB600F. It is a standard/naked style bike. But really, it has the heart of a sport bike.

My new CB600F Another view.

My new CB600F And another.

Me and my new CB600F The sales manager took a picture of me ready to take delivery of my new bike. I really need to do something about my gut.

Me and my new CB600F I took a picture of myself on the new bike once it was home.

Instrument
Cluster The 599 has an interesting instrument layout. Check out that redline!

Motorcycle Glove My new gloves remind me of something out of Mad Max.
